Single-Payer New York Events

Some 500 activists gathered to demonstrate their support for Single Payer Healthcare at the "Rochester Speaks Out" event, hosted by Progressive Democrats of Genesee Valley.

Panelists included Congressman John Conyers (D-MI), chairman of the House Judiciary committee and author of HR 676, Congressman Eric Massa, representing New York's 29th district, actress, activist, and Progressive Democrats of America Advisory Board Chair Mimi Kennedy, and Dr. Theodore Brown, Professor at University of Rochester in the Department of History, Community and Preventive Medicine and Medical Humanities. The panel was moderated by Jeff Cohen, Founder of FAIR and endowed chair and director of Park center for Independent Medical/Journalism Department in the School of Communications at Ithaca College. Panel members made brief statement, and then took questions from the audience.
