The Republications are going to kill Affordable Care Act. It has Obama’s name on it and that won’t do. The important thing is what replaces it. That has to be single-payer, and the time to make it happen is NOW, before the Republicans mess it up. The quickest and easiest to do that is to amend the Medicare act to cover all Americans. I have asked my Representative to introduce a bill to accomplish that, but I’m sure she won’t, since she is Republican. It is a waste of time and effort to try to prevent the repeal of ACA. It has it’s own flaws, and we need to get it right this time. Medicare works, and it is only fair that it works for everyone. Get the insurance companies out of the act- get the employers and the unions and the local governments out of the act. My local school district pays 20% of it’s total budget just for health insurance for it’s employees. All those premiums, copays, deductibles and the myriad taxes that go with them surely would give Medicare all the money it needs to cover the entire population. Medicaid, Chip, VA, and other special programs would be eliminated. But, please, please press the message forward NOW, before it is too late. Amend the Medicare act to replace the Affordable Care Act.
